Candidate will be expected to provide clinical excellence and scholarly enthusiasm. The provider will have direct patient care responsibilities. The selected candidate will be appointed as a faculty Instructor and be eligible for full faculty benefits.

Job Duties
<br><br>
Primary responsibilities include inpatient care of thoracic surgery patients in coordination with attending physician and resident physician teams. This will include thorough pre-round chart review, engagement in collaborative rounds with attending physicians as well as independent rounding, documentation of clinical decision-making and treatment plans, coordination and execution of the day’s care plan, including wound management and other procedural interventions as needed, and frequent follow up on pt progress and testing to ensure patients are progressing through their plan of care.

Obtain detailed history and perform physical examinations. See consults independently and/or with residents/fellows in various settings – floor, ICU, ED, etc.

Summary
<br><br>
Urology is seeking a Medical Assistant who is proficient in delivering patient care in the ambulatory care setting.
<br><br>
As a Medical Assistant II, you will perform patient care responsibilities, provide clerical/administrative support in a clinical setting, and may assist with providing guidance to entry-level Medical Assistants.
<br><br>
Job Duties
<br>Performs routine patient care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, venipuncture (blood draws), collecting specimens, and wound care.
<br>Collects patient history, performs medication reconciliation and enters information in the electronic medical record.
<br>Notes the primary complaint/reason for patient’s visit.
<br>Sets up instruments and equipment for Physician.
<br>Assists with procedures as needed.
<br>Administers medication under direction / order of a supervising Physician.
<br>Instructs Patients on general care and medical procedures.
<br>Maintains patient and service rooms in a neat and orderly condition.
<br>Schedules patient tests, procedures, and appointments.
<br>Conducts patient outreach phone calls and post visit follow-ups.
<br>Performs clerical/administrative responsibilities such as filing and/or scanning patient medical records, obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information.
<br>Takes inventory of clinic supplies and order supplies as needed.
<br>Sorts and distributes clinic mail and medical records to the appropriate clinic personnel.
<br>Assists with Autoclaving instruments.
<br>Assists with Cysto procedures in clinic.
<br>Collects Urine samples/cultures
<br>Handles patient daily calls.
<br>Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
<br>Minimum Qualifications
<br>High school diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant Training program through an accredited institution.
<br>Two years of relevant experience.
<br>Current certification as a Medical Assistant through an accredited professional organization (AAMA, AMT, ARMA, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, AMCA, AAH, AAMP, or NPS).
<br>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association.
<br>Preferred Qualifications
<br>Urology or OB-Gyn experience.

Confirms patient appointments 1 &ndash; 2 weeks out by ensuring patients receive new patient paperwork to complete prior to appointment and are aware to bring any medical records that are relevant to their visit.</li><li>
Ensures that patients are scheduled with the appropriate provider.</li><li>
Obtains referring provider information and requests relevant medical records and referrals prior to appointment as needed.</li><li>
Displays proficiency in ability to successfully obtain vital signs.</li><li>
Schedules and assists with in-office procedures.</li><li>
Manages high volume patient clinics and calls.</li><li>
Answers patient calls in a competent, professional and timely manner.</li><li>
Assists clinicians with medication refills and prior authorizations as needed.</li><li>
Assists clinicians with imaging orders and prior authorizations as needed.</li><li>
Assists clinicians with medical record review to determine scheduling needs of patient.</li><li>
Frequently utilizes electronic health record (Epic) in interactions with patients and referring provider offices for documentation.</li><li>
Frequently utilizes electronic health record (Epic) to upload patient records.</li><li>
Frequently utilizes imaging software (PACS) to upload images.</li><li>
Demonstrate effective communication, time management, teamwork, organization, multi-tasking and professionalism skills in all aspects of role.</li><li>
Assists with coverage in all areas of the practice as needed.</li><li>

Minimum Qualifications</b></h2></div><div><ul><li>
