We are seeking an experienced Credit Analyst to cover U.S. leveraged loan situations across the credit lifecycle. This role sits within a team of sixteen analysts covering both performing and distressed credits and will contribute directly to the team's research coverage.

 The Americas Division (&ldquo;AD&rdquo;) was established in the Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited, New York Branch) (&ldquo;SMTBNY&rdquo;) to perform corporate functions and supervise U.S. entities. Established under the AD are the &ldquo;Global Banking Unit (&ldquo;GBU&rdquo;), Americas Division&rdquo; and &ldquo;Global Markets Unit (&ldquo;GMU&rdquo;), Americas Division&rdquo; which performs business functions. The Specialty Finance Department (&ldquo;SFD&rdquo;) is responsible for originating, booking and monitoring credit facilities for both bilateral and syndicated loan transactions. SFD focuses on building and monitoring portfolio assets in 3 main product areas: Project Finance, Trade and Commodity Finance and Aviation.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Your Role Overview:
 
 
 
 Responsible for credit evaluation and deal maintenance for Trade &amp; Commodity Finance and Aviation. The analyst would be involved in all facets of this team&rsquo;s coverage, with a focus on underwriting and monitoring activities, with exposure to origination and structuring activities.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Your Duties and Responsibilities
 
 
 <ol>
 <li>
 Reviews potential assets in assigned products/industries, prepares detailed credit memos and credit applications and makes investment recommendations, based upon a comprehensive financial and qualitative analysis.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures compliance with applicable investment guidelines and directives from Head Office and Branch Management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitors assigned assets/products/industries to maintain credit quality through asset/product/industry appropriate measures, i.e., financial analysis and trends, cross-sectional analysis, cashflow analysis and market value/liquidity.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepares all applications and reports and makes recommendations on all amendments, refinancings and other ongoing activities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responsible for all Head Office and Branch monitoring and reporting requirements, including rating review, business review of documentation, regulatory review, booking and financial and portfolio review requirements, with support from Operations Analyst as designated.
 </li>
 <li>
 May support deal structuring activities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
 </li>

 Your Qualifications:
 
 
 <ol>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Finance or Economics or equivalent with 0-2 years related experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Good knowledge of finance and basic accounting.
 </li>
 <li>
 Good knowledge of commonly used research resources, including Bloomberg, EDGAR, and rating agencies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Basic knowledge of corporate finance transactions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Basic knowledge of loan markets.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Access) and some modeling capabilities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent oral and written communication skills.
 </li>
