JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
Accountant II: Supports assigned VOALA Programs with accounting and reporting services. Provides financial information to Program Managers and Corporate Leadership, by preparing reports, maintaining accounting records and General Ledger and analyzing accounts and program expenditures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Maintains accounting data for multiple programs (some with multiple grants) while managing varying grant requirements
<ul><li>Prepares journal entries, worksheets, and financial reports using automated as well as hands-on accounting practices following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)</li>
<li>Approves AP vouchers and codes expenses and charges</li>
<li>Analyzes general ledger account and program financial situation</li>
<li>Prepares monthly billing and Drawdown</li>
<li>Maintains Accounting controls by following policies and procedures complying with Federal, state and local financial requirement</li>
<li>Corrects errors by posting adjusting entries in Great Plain Accounting software</li>
<li>Prepares monthly, quarterly, yearly closeout reports for funders</li>
<li>Maintains simple accounts and balance reconciliation</li>

What You'll Do 
 
As a Case Manager II, you will provide trauma-informed, strengths-based case management to veterans Responsibilities include:

<li>Conduct thorough client assessments and develop individualized service plans (IAPs) addressing housing, employment, education, recovery, legal, financial, medical, and mental health needs.</li>
<li>Coordinate and monitor services with the VA, landlords, employers, treatment providers, and community resources to help clients meet their goals.</li>
<li>Provide regular one-on-one meetings with clients and conduct home visits (project-based and scattered-site housing).</li>
<li>Conduct home visits at project-based units or scattered sites to ensure health and welfare of clients</li>
<li>Transport clients in company vehicles to appointments, interviews, court appearances and other meetings as needed.</li>
<li>Facilitate life skills groups and/or therapeutic groups tailored to specialized veteran populations (e.g., female veterans, justice-involved veterans, families with children).</li>

This role supports accurate job costing, financial reporting, billing, subcontractor payments, and project cost monitoring.The position works closely with project managers, field leadership, and administrative staff to ensure project costs are accurately tracked and financial records are maintained in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.This role requires prior experience in construction accounting, including job cost tracking, progress billing, contract documentation, and coordination with project operations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesA) Job Cost Accounting &amp; Project Cost TrackingMaintain job cost accounting records for all active projects.Track project expenses including:<ul><li>Labor costs Materials and equipment Subcontractor costs Change orders and adjustments</li></ul>Review project cost data for accuracy and alignment with approved budgets.Prepare and maintain job cost reports to support project managers and leadership in monitoring project performance.Assist in identifying cost overruns, budget variances, and financial trends across projects.B) Construction Billing &amp; Contract AccountingPrepare and manage construction billing processes including:<ul><li>Progress billing Time and materials billing Contract-based invoicing Retainage tracking</li></ul>Maintain project billing schedules and ensure invoices are submitted in accordance with contract requirements.Track change orders and ensure billing adjustments are properly documented and processed.Monitor accounts receivable related to project billing and coordinate follow-up on outstanding invoices.C) Accounts Payable &amp; Vendor Payment CoordinationReview and process vendor and subcontractor invoices.Ensure invoices align with purchase orders, contracts, and approved project costs.Coordinate subcontractor payments in accordance with payment terms and project cash flow.Maintain vendor files including contracts, insurance documentation, and lien releases when applicable.D) Financial Reporting &amp; Project Financial AnalysisAssist with preparation of monthly financial statements and accounting reports.Generate project financial reports including:<ul><li>Job cost summaries Project profitability reports Budget vs actual comparisons Cost trend analysis</li></ul>Provide financial data and reports to leadership to support operational and financial decision-making.E) Payroll &amp; Labor Cost CoordinationCoordinate with payroll administration to ensure labor hours are accurately allocated to project cost codes.Support labor cost tracking and reporting related to job costing.Assist with documentation related to labor cost allocation when required.F) Accounting Compliance &amp; DocumentationMaintain organized accounting documentation for contracts, invoices, payments, and project financial records.Support accounting compliance with company financial policies and accounting standards.Assist with preparation of documentation needed for audits, insurance reviews, and financial reporting.Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and securely.Required QualificationsBachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.Minimum 3&ndash;5 years of accounting experience, with experience in construction accounting strongly preferred.Working knowledge of:<ul><li>Job costing Construction billing processes Contract accounting Accounts payable and receivable processes Financial reporting</li></ul>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, field leadership, and administrative staff.Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
