We are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented <b>Chief Accountant</b> to support the Finance &amp; Business Support Manager and act as the second-in-command of the Finance Department. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with IHG standards, and continuity of finance operations.</p>
A little taste of your day-to-day:
<p>
Every day is different at IHG, but you&rsquo;ll mostly be:</p>
<ul>
<li>Reporting directly to the <b>Finance &amp; Business Support Manager</b> and acting as their deputy in managing the hotel&rsquo;s accounting operations.</li>
<li>Overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial records.</li>
<li>Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IHG policies and local statutory requirements.</li>
<li>Ensuring full compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements.</li>
<li>Supporting the Finance &amp; Business Support Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.</li>
<li>Monitoring cash flow, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts, ensuring financial stability and accuracy.</li>
<li>Supervising accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, inventory, and fixed assets functions.</li>
<li>Preparing financial analyses, variance reports, and insights to support management decision-making.</li>
<li>Coordinating internal and external audits and ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.</li>
<li>Reviewing contracts, agreements, and financial commitments to ensure compliance with approved policies and budgets.</li>
<li>Coaching, guiding, and developing the accounting team to ensure strong performance and operational continuity.</li>
<li>Maintaining strict confidentiality of financial, commercial, and employee information.</li>
<li>Working closely with all hotel departments to promote financial discipline, cost control, and operational efficiency.</li>
</ul>What we need from you
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li>
<li>Minimum of 5 years&rsquo; experience in hotel accounting, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of hotel financial controls, reporting cycles, and audit processes; IHG system experience is an advantage.</li>
<li>Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools.</li>
<li>Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and assume responsibility.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic, both written and verbal.</li>
<li>High standards of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.</li>
