Right now, when a customer receives a tax notice, there's no in-house expert to triage it, investigate the root cause, or coordinate a resolution with our embedded payroll partners. That gap costs us customers &mdash; and it costs small business owners peace of mind they can't afford to lose.
You'll change that. As our first Payroll Tax Specialist, you'll be Homebase's resident payroll tax authority &mdash; the person who turns an overwhelming notice queue into a structured, resolved, documented operation. You'll work directly with customers, partner closely with our payroll operations team, and flag patterns that help Product and Engineering build a smarter product. Your work won't just resolve tax notices &mdash; you'll uncover the patterns that help us build a smarter payroll product powered by automation and AI.

Own Tax Notice Resolution &mdash; Primary Focus<ul><li>

Conduct quarterly account hygiene reviews: verify TPA/POA is in place for all active filing states, confirm agency IDs and rates are current, and surface any at-risk accounts before they generate notices.</li><li>
Monitor for year-end risk factors &mdash; owner/shareholder changes, 2% shareholder benefits, compensation adjustments &mdash; and surface them proactively.</li><li>
Support customers through quarter-end variance questions and help reconcile payroll updates with tax filings.</li></ul>

Major Duties :
1. Manages investment activities for a growing set of major fee revenue producing accounts, representing small to mid-sized personal trusts and individual portfolios typically mid- range in size and complexity within their market with some managerial input. 
 
2. Assists in development and recommendations of designed to achieve investment objectives for specific individual clients. 
 
3. Works with Investment Advisors to understand the overall investment strategy and may provide input for revisions as goals and objectives change and in the context of client needs working closely and proactively with the broader client service team to identify and execute on areas of opportunity. 
 
4. Developing an influential presence with the local client facing team, clients, co-trustees, consultants, the bank's legal area and outside attorneys to ensure communication of client requirements and coordinate portfolio activity. 
 
5. Consistently demonstrates increasing proficiency with new investment strategies, tools and capabilities, and portfolio research and investment methodologies through regular contact and engagement with the National Investment and Goals Driven Wealth Management Practices, their peers, and broader Wealth and Asset Management. 
 
6. Provides high level support to the Investment Advisory team. Demonstrates mastery level skill utilizing all tools needed including CRA, Wealthbench, GPS, and WM Alternatives. Provides guidance and mentoring to Investment Associates. 
 
7. Accountable for personal adherence to best practices as measured by the PM Dashboard and related reporting. 
 
8. Works with manager to understand how to personally contribute towards the execution of initiatives, new capability rollouts, and required training. 
 
9. Provides continuous feedback on areas for improvement to leadership on national initiatives, changes, and expectations. 
 
10. Adheres to National Investment Guidelines, feedback from the REV peer review process, and observes sound risk management practices. 
 
Knowledge :<ul><li>Knowledge of investment and portfolio management theory, accounting and financial principles, associated investment strategies and instruments, and characteristics of various marketplaces, usually acquired through formal education and work experience, is required to manage portfolios.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Analytical and interpretive skills are needed to understand client needs in the context of investment strategies.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines.</li></ul> 
Experience :<ul><li>Minimum 2 to 4 years of investment experience working in investment services industry</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience</li></ul> 
<ul><li>May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements</li></ul>
