<div><p>South Loop Loft is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to partner directly with the Founder in executing a new flagship showroom and our operational hub.</p>
<p>
This is a high-responsibility, gig-based role for someone who can operate as both a design partner and execution lead&mdash;translating a strong creative vision into a fully realized space.</p>

Ownership will lead the overall vision and direction. You will be the person who brings it to life&mdash;through spatial refinement, material sourcing, vendor coordination, and hands-on execution.</p>

ROLE OVERVIEW</p>
<p>
You will work side-by-side with the Founder (design visionary) to refine and execute an already-developed design concept. The Founder has compiled a thorough design deck reflecting the major components, storytelling, and materials of interest.</p>
<p>
The space includes:</p>
<ul>
<li><p>A client-facing retail showroom</p>
</li>
<li><p>A back-of-house warehouse and inventory operation</p>
</li>
<li><p>Existing workshops for furniture restoration</p>
</li>
</ul><p>This role will also support the company through its transition into the new space&mdash;helping to coordinate the move, install the showroom, and prepare for the Grand Opening.</p>
<p>
This is not a role focused solely on drawings. It requires someone who can operate fluidly between design, logistics, sourcing, and execution.</p>
<p>
This role requires someone who is comfortable operating without a full support team. You will be responsible for both high-level design thinking and detailed execution, including procurement, coordination, and problem-solving across all phases of the project.</p>
<p>
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p>
<ul>
<li><p>Partner with ownership to refine the floor plan and spatial layout in real time (SketchUp required)</p>
</li>
<li><p>Translate the Founder&rsquo;s design vision into clear, buildable decisions across all phases of the project. The Founder has a detailed design deck already prepared.</p>

<li><p>Develop clear visual and technical documentation (drawings, models, references) to align design intent with execution across teams</p>
</li>
<li><p>Lead material sourcing and procurement, from architectural finishes to final details</p>
</li>
<li><p>Fully own procurement, including ordering, tracking, follow-up, and vendor coordination to ensure timely delivery</p>
</li>
<li><p>Source and coordinate everything from specialty materials and custom elements to functional items (e.g., outlet covers, hardware, espresso machine, etc.)</p>

<li><p>Identify, vet, and manage relationships with artisans, fabricators, and vendors</p>
</li>
<li><p>Partner with artisans to develop specialty wall finishes and unique installations that reflect the South Loop Loft brand and the family of artists we work with</p>

<li><p>Oversee window treatments and soft goods, including coordination with drapery workrooms</p>

<li><p>Manage all sampling, approvals, and finish selections</p>
</li>
<li><p>Work closely with the GC and internal teams during active construction and installation</p>

<li><p>Review drawings, shop drawings, and site conditions to ensure design intent is maintained throughout construction</p>

As the project moves beyond the most intensive design and construction phase (July/August 2026), this role will evolve to support the full realization and activation of the space.</p>

<li><p>Designing and sourcing signage and experiential details throughout the space</p>

<li><p>Fully furnishing secondary spaces such as offices, kitchen, and back-of-house areas</p>

<br>Duties and Responsibilities
<br><ul>
<li>Assists in the development of interior designs, to ensure that the solution delivered meets quality parameters, project timelines and budgetary requirements</li>
<li>Supports the Design team with site surveys, concept design, schematic and material / furniture research</li>
<li>Follows safety requirements when in the field</li>
<li>Prepares drawings, models and rendering, following office standards</li>
<li>Prepares and coordinates presentation materials to ensure project documentation is complete and accurate</li>

Required Skills

<li>Education: You are currently enrolled in a post-secondary Interior Design program</li>
<li>Technical: Design and rendering software skills; e.g., Revit, SketchUp, and Photoshop</li>
<li>Knowledge: Interior design and presentation techniques; basic permit and building codes</li>
<li>Excellent written and communication skills</li>
</ul>

</p><p>We are looking for a Junior Interior Design to join us, working in all phases of the commercial interiors process through construction, procurement, installation and post turnover. You will perform a broad range of design and documentation tasks including but not limited to: Producing and updating REVIT and CAD drawings and 3D conceptualizing. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors. Collaborate with senior designers and project managers in a variety of tasks to ensure design intent is carried through. Sourcing of FF&amp;E for a variety of multifamily and commercial concepts. Participating in meetings, taking notes and translating feedback into actionable design updates.</p><p>

</p><p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</p><ul><li>A minimum of 3-years of experience functioning as a design assistant, junior interior designer or interior architect in the multi-family market or similar.</li><li>Strong sense of urgency, organization and close attention to detail a must. Excellent communication, research and problem-solving skills a must. Need to be able to act, presenting information as things arise with possible solutions.</li><li>Maintain up to date and organized shared physical (as needed) and electronic files, primarily in Programa, BlueBeam Revu, REVIT, CAD, Excel and Word.</li><li>Generate and maintain ongoing updating of plan sets inclusive of specifications, elevations, custom furniture and millwork distributed to architectural partners and construction teams. Plans are developed in REVIT and AutoCAD following in-house style guidelines.</li><li>Participate in creating specification documents, scope sheets, presentation decks and turnover packages.</li><li>Work with in house construction teams to communicate design intent and clarification as needed.</li><li>Work with team on procurement, vendor relations and assist with warehouse coordination both local and out of state.</li><li>Provide onsite support and assist with coordination of installation &amp; logistics teams, including construction, movers, labor, vendors, building management &ndash; both local and out of state. Requires post installation documentation to close out job.</li><li>Participate in the selection of FF&amp;E and presentation when required. This includes FF&amp;E replacements for annual improvements at existing buildings, working with our finance and property management teams.</li><li>Documentation of existing conditions and field verification for building refreshes.</li><li>Ability to stand, lift, carry, climb, and stoop for extended periods of time and multiple days in a row during installations and warehouse days.</li><li>Installation requires out of state travel for typically a week at a time.</li></ul><p>
SKILLS &amp; REQUIREMENTS</p><ul><li>Experience with multifamily building types a plus.</li><li>Basic understanding of construction process, construction drawings and documents.</li><li>Self-motivated and confident problem solver with a positive attitude, taking initiative when needed. Having the ability to present and articulate ideas and analyze.</li><li>Proficient in REVIT and AutoCAD. Previous experience in BlueBeam Revu, Excel, Word, Photoshop and Outlook required. In Design, Programa, and Sketchup a plus.</li><li>Out of state travel required. Some local travel is required for site visits, vendor meetings, installation and warehouses.</li><li>Not a remote position.</li></ul></div>
