Job OverviewAstra Construction LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper with strong QuickBooks skills and a background in construction accounting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping, and supporting the company's financial reporting and accounting processes.Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.</li><li>Record and reconcile bank and credit card transactions.</li><li>Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.</li><li>Track and manage construction job costs.</li><li>Handle retainage accounting and monitor outstanding retainage balances.</li><li>Prepare monthly financial reports, including Profit &amp; Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.</li><li>Reconcile general ledger accounts.</li><li>Assist with payroll and subcontractor payments.</li><li>Prepare and organize documentation for accountants and year-end tax reporting.</li><li>Ensure financial records are accurate and comply with company policies.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience.</li><li>Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online).</li><li>Previous construction accounting experience is required.</li><li>Strong understanding of retainage, job costing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.</li><li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and reporting purposes.</li></ul>Pay: From $20.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Houston, TX 77042
