La Rabida Children&rsquo;s Hospital provides specialized, family-centered health care to children with medically complex conditions, disabilities, and chronic illness. Through expertise, compassion, and advocacy we help children and their families reach their fullest potential, regardless of their ability to pay.
Our not-for-profit hospital, licensed for 49 beds, helps transition children from neonatal or pediatric intensive care to home, by providing medical, rehabilitative and developmental care, and by training families to continue treatments and manage the necessary equipment in the home. La Rabida also provides extensive rehabilitation for those recovering from wounds or burns and treatment for exacerbations of chronic conditions.
The hospital&rsquo;s enhanced pediatric patient-centered medical home provides primary care to children with complex medical conditions and their siblings. Children with medical homes elsewhere come to La Rabida for specialty services. La Rabida offers a wide range of specialty services provided to children with sickle cell disease, diabetes, and many others. Children are supported in their emotional and developmental growth, particularly in cases where such growth has been interrupted by accident or disease.
Finally, La Rabida provides forensic and treatment services for children exposed to abuse and neglect, comprehensive assessments for wards of the state, early intervention for children between 0 and 3 years of age. Care coordination services for medically complex children are also provided for those who are covered by a health plan and receive care from providers in Cook County 
Job Description 
SUMMARY: Provide administrative and clinical supervision to staff clinicians. Supervision may include specialized knowledge of specific treatment modalities. Provide diagnostic and psychotherapeutic services to children and their families. Provide training. Functions in an independent and professional manner to provide high-quality psychological services to inpatients, outpatients, specialty clinic and their families. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Clinical Responsibilities (45%):<ul><li>Maintains a clinical caseload</li><li>Oversees assessments with clients. Oversees assessment report that includes recommendations about the treatment and other issues. Reports outcome of assessment and recommendations to the client, caregiver(s), representatives of the agencies involved with the client, (i.e., foster care agency/DCFS/guardian ad litem, etc.)</li><li>Oversees psychotherapy to clients and their families</li><li>Oversees in clinical staffings to support the client&rsquo;s wellbeing and to support the client&rsquo;s stability</li><li>Applies knowledge and expertise of a wide variety of psychotherapeutic techniques to assist children, adolescents, young adults and their families cope adaptively with the impact of medical conditions. This includes the wide range of general behavioral problems such as attention disorders, learning and school/work problems, behavioral problems, among others. Psychotherapeutic techniques may include, but are not limited to, individual psychotherapy, behavior modification techniques, interventions, family therapy, group therapy and crisis intervention.</li><li>May be required to develop and implement specific diagnostic programs and/or treatment programs (&ldquo;clinics&rdquo;) for specific patient populations (e.g., incontinence, pain management).</li><li>Takes an active role in new program development to provide innovative care to children served by La Rabida Children&rsquo;s Hospital</li><li>Serves on hospital and Behavioral Health and Community Programs committees as needed or assigned.</li></ul> 
Supervisory Responsibilities (50%):<ul><li>Provides weekly supervision, individual, group or a combination of both to staff clinicians. Qualifications 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Ph.D./Psy.D./MSW. Degree required. Training in Child Clinical or Pediatric Psychology and APA Internship for Psychologist or LCSW with specific supervised training in childhood trauma required.
Related Work Experience: 5 years of clinical experience with this population highly desirable. Supervisory experience required.
Licensure/Certification: Current licensure to practice in the State of Illinois required;
Related Work Experience: Experience working with children in a medical setting, part of a multidisciplinary medical team, training in assessment, training in operant and cognitive behavioral techniques, experience with child abuse victims, chronically ill children, supervisory experience are highly desirable.
Licensure/Certification: Current Illinois Registration/licensure in Clinical Psychology or eligible and able to attain within 90 days of hire.
CPR required: Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross will be accepted.

JOB SUMMARY

The Anti-Trafficking Housing Specialist is to assist in accomplishing the mission of The Salvation Army through the coordination of all mission activities, corps and social service, within the City of Chicago. Provides outreach activities focused on victims of human trafficking. Outreach activities will result in 1) establish a trusting relationship with potential trafficking victims, 2) build victim-identity, and 3) assist them to construct a safe, realistic, and culturally-sensitive plan to leave trafficking, and 4) assist them to create a safe, realistic plan for sustaining life after exit by providing comprehensive case management. Carry out functions that result in achieving expected outcomes as identified in the STOP-IT Program Plan. Special functions may be assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Housing Activities
<ul><li>Using program's housing assessment, develops housing plan based on the individual needs of program participants and their families, including identifying affordable housing locations for survivors of human trafficking throughout the City of Chicago and non-housing needs in order to establish self-sufficient life.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Acts as a liaison between landlords and program participants and satisfies program commitments with all involved parties to ensure stable housing as an integral part of survivors' ability to exit and remain out of exploitative situations.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Conducts housing needs assessment for program participants in order to identify appropriate resources for participants, offering available options and providing information so that participants can make informed decisions regarding their housing decision.</li></ul>
Direct Outreach Activities
<ul><li>Provides outreach activities within the agency's program policies and procedures, focused on assisting victims in leaving human trafficking. May be required to conduct a majority of direct service or outreach related activities off site, including client meetings, home visits, and work within community agencies.</li></ul>
<ul><li>With close supervision, conducts assessment of the victim's immediate threat of harm.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Utilizes and implements a strengths-based, person-centered approach for assessing the trafficking victim's readiness for leaving their trafficking situation, for designing interventions for planning the victim's exit strategies. The strategies utilized include:
</li><li>build trust</li></ul>
<ul><li>restore choice</li></ul>
<ul><li>teach informed decision making skills,</li></ul>
<ul><li>create hope of exit,</li></ul>
<ul><li>problem-solve barriers to leaving,</li></ul>
<ul><li>assist victim to plan effective exit strategies when they are safe and fully prepared to do so, and assist in the exit.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Consults with supervisor in reviewing and assessing the current stages of outreach cases.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Develops and implements appropriate intervention strategies that recognize the current stage of readiness to leave their situation, and supports the victim's movement to the next stage toward exiting trafficking. Regularly reviews client's progress with the supervisor.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Identifies community resources and assists in developing linkages with providers and law enforcement that support the implementation of the STOP-IT program and the client outcomes.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintains frequent case-related contacts with local resources, collateral sources, public and private agencies and organizations, and law enforcement, to advocate on behalf of clients. Refers clients for services, as needed.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Obtains appropriate Release of Information before a referral is made.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Under the supervisor's direction, processes requests for financial assistance to clients within agency policy.</li></ul>
<ul><li>In consultation with the Supervisor, initiates contact with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services as a mandated reporter when child abuse or neglect is suspected.</li></ul>
<ul><li>In Consultation with the Supervisor, initiates contact with the Elder Abuse Hotline as a mandated reporter when elder abuse is suspected.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Keeps supervisor informed regarding case related subpoenas and attends court when appropriate.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Keeps supervisor informed of clients in crisis who may be at-risk, and any situation or incident that may require immediate attention, to prevent harm to anyone by following the agency emergency plan in the Policy and Procedures Manual. In a timely fashion, reports such contacts, situations or incidents in either internal or Safe From Harm incident reports.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintains STOP-IT hotline as assigned and shared with other team members.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Completes case and statistical recordings, and other required reports and record-keeping for assigned clients per manual on &ldquo;Office Policies and Procedures.&rdquo;</li></ul>
<ul><li>Engages in bi-weekly (additional as needed) professional supervision with designated supervisor.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Maintains awareness of applicable liability issues and other applicable legal issues, and their potential to affect agency and/or clients.</li></ul>

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

<li>A Bachelor's Degree in social work or relative field from an accredited college or university is required. A Master's Degree in Social Work is preferred.</li>
<li>Previous experience in anti-human trafficking work is preferred.</li>
<li>Secures and maintains an LSW/LCSW licensure when eligible.</li>

About the Program:

Behavioral Health Services (BHS): the Behavioral Health Services (BHS) department is a combination of individual, family and group counseling, and mentoring-based services. All BHS services can be provided in the home, school, community and/or office-based locations in Chicagoland. BHS services are designed to encourage participants to utilize their strengths and resilience as motivation to become leaders in their own lives, households, neighborhoods and society. Programming utilizes and enhances individual's strengths and promotes positive outcomes by providing opportunities, fostering positive relationships and furnishing the support needed to build on their strengths. BHS also offers bilingual/bicultural services through Spanish-speaking staff when necessary, and home, community and school-based therapy services as needed. 


Position Objective and Summary:

Under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Supervisor, the Clinical Therapist t provides individual, group and family psychotherapy services in office, home and community based and telehealth virtual session, based on client identified need, to an assigned number of clients. 


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Assessment and Service Planning

Performs IM+CANS assessment and treatment planning evaluation of clients referred for services. Additional assessments and testing may be designated based on intervention planning.</li><li>
Evaluates assessment results, planning treatment programming and approaches.</li><li>
Effectively applies clinical knowledge to evaluate client situations and needs</li><li>
Develops clear and specific ITP goals for each client based upon his/her individual needs</li><li>
