What You'll Do

As a Medication Support Navigator at Imagine Pediatrics you will work on the clinical pharmacy team to support our mission of increasing safe days at home for children with special health and behavioral care needs.

As an integrated care team member, the Medication Support Navigator focuses on improving medication related outcomes by supporting medication access needs for pediatric patients with chronic medical and behavioral health conditions. The medication Support Navigator works alongside the Clinical Pharmacist with primary responsibilities including maintenance of patient medication therapy records, accurately capturing medication histories, troubleshooting medication access barriers with community pharmacies and pharmacy benefits managers, and outreach to patient caregivers.

In this role you will:
<ul>
<li>Manage, triage, and assign clinical pharmacy referrals to appropriate clinical pharmacy team member</li>
<li>Support internal and external team members in the clinical pharmacy referral process based on patient needs</li>
<li>Schedule patient/caregiver appointments for pharmacist-driven clinical programs</li>
<li>Prepare charts in advance of Clinical Pharmacist appointments</li>
<li>Communicates with pharmacies, insurance companies, and internal team members to resolve medication access barriers with the support of pharmacist where needed</li>
<li>Completes medication histories</li>
<li>Monitor incoming medication renewal requests and manage per internal protocols, where allowable by state law, and seek assistance when outside renewal protocols</li>
<li>Monitor incoming prior authorization requests and prepare documentation for review by clinical pharmacist</li>

The Department of Health Systems and Population Health Sciences in the newly established Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine (TJFFCOM) invites applications for a clinical faculty position in the field of medical education. We are recruiting new faculty who have achieved excellence in education, teaching, and research and are prepared to contribute to our bold vision. 
 
This is an open-rank, clinical non-tenure track faculty position. This position will be full-time at 1.0 FTE. Salary and rank commensurate with experience.
 
 
This faculty will serve as a course co-director in the Physician, Patients, and Populations (PPP) Course, which spans 60 pre-clerkship weeks with 4 hours of weekly instruction. This course is critical to our mission of preparing physicians to deliver primary care in underserved communities with an emphasis on care that is evidence-based, high-value, and team-based. Topics within this course include physician-patient communication, physical diagnosis, medical interviewing, clinical reasoning and decision-making, professionalism, medical ethics, population health, health informatics, quality improvement and safety, health systems and policy, interprofessional team-based care, behavioral health, and evidence-based medicine. The faculty position will contribute to activities related to clinical skills, which includes interviewing, physical exam, documentation, and simulation. 
 
They will also serve as a course co-director in Longitudinal Primary Care (LPC), a model where students are placed in ambulatory clinical settings and provide continuous care to patients alongside a preceptor. This approach aims to foster longitudinal relationships with patients and enhance clinical skills. The successful applicant will play an important role in integrating both PPP and LPC. 
 
Primary Responsibilities 
Duties of the position will include, but are not limited to: 
<ul><li>Serve as a course co-director for PPP and LPC.</li><li>Develop and deliver the PPP course by collaborating with faculty at the college of medicine and university as well as the broader Houston community.</li><li>Partner with the Center for Clinical Arts, Skills, and Experiential Learning (CCASEL) to develop, deliver, and assess simulation activities.</li><li>Develop and deliver clinical skills sessions in PPP, including directing and facilitating small-group learning sessions and other active, applied learning and assessment strategies.</li><li>Develop and oversee formative and summative assessment of student performance.</li><li>Assign and submit final grades.</li><li>Identify, coordinate, and evaluate opportunities for student scholarship and service-learning opportunities.</li><li>Conduct ongoing quality assurance and semi-annual evaluation to assess effectiveness and areas for improvement.</li><li>Share evaluation outcomes through internal reports, conference presentations and publications.</li><li>Identify, orient, develop, and provide feedback to faculty in the course.</li><li>Recruit, assess, and develop high-quality LPC preceptors.</li><li>Assess student performance in LPC</li><li>Implement activities that facilitate the application of clinical skills in real-world settings</li></ul>

<div>The Research Assistant II will support the RECOVER clinical trial, a multi-center study evaluating Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) Therapy for individuals with treatment-resistant depression (TRD), conducted at the Center for Interventional Psychiatry (CIP) at the UCT Clinic. This position plays a critical role in participant identification, eligibility determination, study coordination, and long-term follow-up of participants enrolled in VNS research.
The position requires extensive review and interpretation of psychiatric and medical records to determine study eligibility, including assessment of prior antidepressant medication trials, psychotherapy history, psychiatric hospitalizations, neuromodulation treatments, medical comorbidities, and other factors relevant to treatment-resistant depression. The Research Assistant II must be able to synthesize complex clinical information and communicate findings effectively to investigators and clinical staff.
Responsibilities include participant recruitment, informed consent, clinical and research assessments, regulatory documentation, data collection, and coordination of study procedures across screening, implantation, and longitudinal follow-up phases. The Research Assistant II will work closely with psychiatrists, neurosurgeons, research coordinators, sponsors, and study participants to ensure compliance with study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory requirements.
This position is ideal for individuals with advanced training in health sciences, psychology, psychiatry, or medicine who are interested in clinical research involving treatment-resistant depression, neuromodulation, and interventional psychiatry. Schedule is Monday through Friday, with routine start times at 8:00 AM, at our Center for Interventional Psychiatry Clinic. Occasional flexibility may be required based on participant schedules and study needs.
Candidates may possess a Master&rsquo;s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Public Health, Clinical Research, Nursing, Social Work, or a related health sciences field, or an MD (or equivalent) obtained outside the United States that does not require U.S. licensure for this research position. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, including treatment-resistant depression, as well as psychopharmacology, psychotherapy interventions, and common medical comorbidities. Experience conducting comprehensive medical record reviews and synthesizing complex psychiatric and medical histories is essential, along with the ability to evaluate prior medication trials, psychotherapy treatments, psychiatric hospitalizations, and neuromodulation interventions to support study eligibility determinations. Candidates should have a solid understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), human subjects protection, and research ethics, and experience coordinating clinical research studies and interacting with study participants. Familiarity with interventional psychiatry treatments&mdash;such as Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS), Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and ketamine-based therapies&mdash;is strongly preferred. Position Summary:
Under general direction, conducts basic/ translational research, which may include animal work and other research activities. Research activities may include some or all of the following: handle biological samples, perform laboratory experiments and activities, and data collection.
