The Leasing Specialist performs a variety of duties associated with leasing and marketing the apartment community.<br/></p><p>The Leasing Specialist will be responsible for the following:<br/></p><p>Provide information about the apartment and the community to the prospective residents and schedule visits to the community<br/>Determine the needs and respond promptly to resident needs and concerns in a professional manner<br/>Quickly close new sales and lease apartments<br/>Use effective sales techniques on the telephone and in person to maximize the conversion of traffic to leases<br/>Effectively explain all lease and community policies to new and current residents<br/>Maintain an accurate and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the community, particularly in areas such as rent and pricing information, vacancies, apartment availability, lease expirations, square footage, etc.<br/>Analyze concerns associated with apartments which are slow to lease and offers recommendations to the Property Manager<br/>Conduct follow up activity with all residents in order to establish positive resident relations<br/>Accurately and efficiently prepares and assists with all leasing paperwork<br/>Maintain current resident files<br/>Maintain accurate record of daily prospect calls and visits<br/>Completes service requests and communicates to service/maintenance department and enters information into the database<br/>Answering phones, typing, filing and other clerical functions as deemed necessary.<br/>Follow all policies and procedures defined by BSR REIT<br/>Perform all other duties as assigned<br/></p><p>Requirements:<br/></p><p>High school diploma or GED equivalent required<br/>Valid Driver's license required<br/>1-2 years apartment leasing experience<br/>General working knowledge of computers and computer programs (MS Word, MS Excel, Resman)<br/>Warm, engaging personality<br/>Friendly, energetic with great people skills<br/>Excellent at both phone and in person sales<br/>Ability to communicate effectively<br/>Read and write English fluently<br/>Good organizational skills<br/>Good verbal skills<br/>Strong customer service skills<br/>Ability to close a sale<br/>Ability to operate general office equipment<br/>Ability to multi-task and commit to high performance in a busy work environment<br/></p><p>BSR REIT offers a competitive benefit program to assist team members with everyday life such as medical expenses and providing financial protection in the event of a major illness or injury.
