<p>The Wall Street Journal's Opinion section is looking for a talented editor to join our growing editorial team in New York as a senior newsletter editor. We're looking for a high-energy, collaborative team player who is dedicated to high journalism standards, possesses excellent editing skills, and can work effectively under deadline pressure. This position would be responsible for leading a small team to grow our newsletter offerings, and requires a strong understanding of the newsletter format needs of audiences across multiple platforms.</p>
<p>The primary goal of this role is to engage a new and broader audience, particularly those interested in cultural commentary, by delivering high-quality, compelling insights consistent with the Journal editorial page's free market philosophy while adopting a more personable tone and cultural lens. This Senior Newsletter Editor would report to the Lead Editor and partner with the editorial board and editorial features team to produce a premium newsletter sent five days a week. <p>The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with demonstrated management experience, eager to partner with colleagues across the Opinion section, including editorial board members, features editors, data, SEO, social media, and product teams. <p><b>You Will:</b></p>
<ul><li>Write, curate and develop a five days-a-week premium newsletter with a heavy emphasis on cultural commentary that reflects the Journal editorial page's free market philosophy, with a stronger emphasis on cultural commentary while adopting a distinct, personable voice.</li>

<li>Leverage newsletter best practices to drive subscriptions and conversions, including advanced segmentation, testing, CTAs, and integration with broader subscription campaigns.</li>
<li>Develop strategies to build a community around the newsletter through interactive segments, reader feedback loops, surveys, live events, and AMAs that encourage two-way engagement.</li>
<li>Use audience insights, A/B testing, and analytics to refine content, formats, and tone to build loyalty and engagement over time.</li>
<li>Experiment with voice, tone, and personalization to ensure newsletters feel direct, engaging, and native to readers' inboxes.</li>
<li>Occasionally write persuasive opinion articles for the newsletter.</li>
