<p><b>Position Overview</b></p><p>We are seeking a versatile and technically skilled <b>Blackmagic Camera Operator / DIT</b> to support our production team across both shooting and post-production workflows. This role combines on-set camera operation with digital imaging and media management responsibilities. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, has hands-on experience with <b>Blackmagic Design</b> camera systems, and possesses a strong understanding of <b>color, data workflow, and file integrity</b>.</p><p><b>Key ResponsibilitiesCamera Operation</b></p><ul><li>Operate <b>Blackmagic Design cameras</b> (URSA Mini Pro, Pocket Cinema Camera, Studio Camera, etc.) during shoots, ensuring precise framing, focus, and exposure.</li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with the <b>Director of Photography (DP)</b> and <b>Lighting Department</b> to achieve consistent visual style and image quality.</li></ul><ul><li>Configure and maintain camera settings, lenses, and rigs for each production scenario.</li></ul><ul><li>Manage camera media, frame rates, codecs, and color profiles (Blackmagic RAW, ProRes, log workflows).</li></ul><ul><li>Support multi-camera setups and live production when required.</li></ul><p><b>Digital Imaging &amp; Workflow</b></p><ul><li>Act as <b>DIT</b> on set&mdash;managing color consistency, exposure monitoring, and data integrity.</li></ul><ul><li>Perform <b>on-set data wrangling</b>: offload, verify, and organize media from multiple cameras.</li></ul><ul><li>Create and maintain <b>backup copies</b> following established data security protocols.</li></ul><ul><li>Ingest footage into <b>DaVinci Resolve</b> (or designated software) for sync, LUT application, and basic color balance.</li></ul><ul><li>Generate <b>dailies</b> and <b>proxy files</b> for editorial teams as needed.</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain a detailed <b>log of footage</b> and file structure for efficient handoff to post-production.</li></ul><ul><li>Troubleshoot and maintain DIT carts, monitors, and calibration tools.</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Proven experience as a <b>camera operator</b> or <b>DIT</b>, preferably using <b>Blackmagic Design</b> systems.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong technical knowledge of <b>digital cinema workflows</b>, color spaces, and codecs.</li></ul><ul><li>Proficiency in <b>DaVinci Resolve</b> for LUT management, transcoding, and media organization.</li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of <b>exposure</b>, <b>white balance</b>, <b>color science</b>, and on-set monitoring tools (waveform, vectorscope).</li></ul><ul><li>Excellent data management and organizational skills.</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple media sources on set.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong teamwork and communication skills.</li></ul><p><b>Preferred Skills</b></p><ul><li>Familiarity with <b>ATEM live switchers</b> or live-stream workflows.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience with <b>gimbals</b>, <b>drones</b>, or <b>multi-camera environments</b>.</li></ul><ul><li>Knowledge of <b>network-based media transfers</b> or <b>NAS workflows</b>.</li></ul><ul><li>Understanding of post-production processes, metadata handling, and file delivery standards.</li></ul><p><b>Education &amp; Experience</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Film Production, Media, or a related field (preferred).</li><li>2&ndash;3 years of experience in camera operation or DIT roles.</li><li>Demonstrated experience with <b>Blackmagic cameras</b> and <b>DaVinci Resolve</b> required.</li></ul><p><b>Compensation</b></p><ul><li>$15 - $18/hr</li></ul><p>Job Types: Part-time, Internship, Contract</p><p>Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour</p><p>Work Location: In person</p>
