What You'll Do
 
Lead Infrastructure Reliability and Performance
 
Provide engineering leadership for the operation, maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of campus mechanical infrastructure systems.
 Support central utility plants, HVAC systems, utility distribution networks, energy systems, and building automation controls.
 Investigate and resolve complex facility and infrastructure challenges through technical analysis and practical problem-solving.
 Develop long-term solutions that improve equipment reliability, resilience, and operational efficiency.
 
Drive Energy and Sustainability Initiatives
 
Identify opportunities to improve energy performance, reduce operating costs, and enhance system efficiency.
 Develop business cases and technical justifications for infrastructure upgrades and modernization projects.
 Partner with Energy Management and Central Plant teams to implement operational best practices and optimize system performance.
 Analyze utility and equipment performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
 
Support Capital Improvements and Engineering Projects
 
Provide technical expertise for facility infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
 Review designs, specifications, and engineering studies prepared by outside consultants and engineering firms.
 Collaborate with Facilities Services and Capital Projects teams to ensure solutions align with operational requirements and institutional standards.
 Provide field oversight during equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
 
Serve as a Technical Resource
 
Act as a key engineering liaison between Facilities Services, institutional leadership, researchers, clinicians, contractors, consultants, and project teams.
 Provide expert guidance regarding infrastructure capabilities, system limitations, and operational impacts.
 Maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, equipment records, and technical standards.
 
Respond When It Matters Most
 
Lead and support engineering response efforts during critical equipment failures, utility interruptions, emergency events, and planned infrastructure shutdowns.
 Provide technical direction to operations personnel and contractors during emergency situations.

This role is focused on owning and optimizing the performance of complex building systems within a large academic medical environment. Perform all assigned planned maintenance on customer/company industrial batteries and chargers.</li><li>
Provide concise, accurate, and sufficiently detailed data for input of all maintenance information.</li><li>
Provide emergency/unscheduled and scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment and facilities.</li><li>
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.</li><li>
Complete daily work log and work order paperwork for tasks accomplished during shift.</li><li>
Respond to maintenance calls when required and/or requested.</li><li>
Comply with company safety program and trainings.</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS:
<ul><li>High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred</li><li>
Valid Driver&rsquo;s License</li><li>
3+ years&rsquo; experience in equipment and maintenance operations; previous battery charger experience preferred</li><li>
Familiarity with Airport operations a plus</li><li>
Mechanical and electrical aptitude, with knowledge of electrical/electronic systems</li><li>
PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel</li><li>
Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics</li><li>
Ability to be badged to work in secure areas of an airport</li><li>

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of a Battery Charger Technician, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircrafts and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.

The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircrafts and around heavy equipment.
