Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
<ul><li>Commission photographers and oversee end-to-end production of photo shoots across print and digital platforms
</li><li>Lead on-set production and provide confident, experienced art direction to achieve exceptional visual outcomes
</li><li>Collaborate with editorial, design, and visual teams to concept and execute compelling, on-brand shoots
</li><li>Manage and optimize shoot budgets, balancing creative ambition with strategic resource allocation
</li><li>Oversee production logistics including contracts, COIs, call sheets, travel, credits, and asset delivery
</li><li>Direct retouching processes to ensure final imagery meets brand standards and visual excellence
</li><li>Cultivate and maintain relationships with photographers, stylists, agents, and vendors
</li><li>Identify and champion emerging visual talent, bringing fresh perspectives to Cosmopolitan and Seventeen
</li></ul>Qualifications (What We&rsquo;re Looking For)
<ul><li>Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a magazine visual department or similar creative environment
</li><li>Proven experience producing celebrity, fashion, beauty, and still-life shoots
</li><li>Strong on-set art direction skills with the ability to lead production confidently
</li><li>Established network of photographers, stylists, agents, and creative vendors
</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple projects simultaneously
</li><li>Deep understanding of visual storytelling across print, digital, and social platforms
</li><li>Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
</li><li>Knowledge of current industry trends, emerging talent, and visual culture

The base salary for this role is between $75,480 and $83,000. This role may also be eligible for additional performance-based compensation.

 Job Summary
 
 
 
 The Associate Editor is accountable for soliciting, acquiring and developing authors and books for the Harlequin Intrigue publishing program. The primary purpose of the position is to ensure the ongoing and timely supply of high quality, saleable titles for the list.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Acquires manuscripts with the correct editorial fit and highest editorial quality for the publishing strategy.
 </li>
 <li>
 Works closely with authors on editorial development, including evaluating and advising on proposals, providing revisions to authors and line editing. Oversees copy editing and author approval/ alterations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Reads submissions (solicited and unsolicited where applicable), replies to authors/agents, presents projects, negotiates contracts and monitors payments to authors. Develops new authors to publication standard.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides editorial input into packaging design to ensure key selling features are reflected in the book package. Works with the Marketing and Art teams on design recommendations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Writes and reviews back cover copy to deliver the most saleable package.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provides assistance to team as needed, to back imprint strategy and growth.
 </li>
 <li>
 Represents the program/company at both internal and external conferences.
 </li>
 <li>
 Fosters current agent contacts and develops relationships with new agents.
 </li>
 <li>
 Project management of specific initiatives, including trend-inspired IP projects, as directed.

 Specific training or job experience required includes:

 An undergraduate degree

 3-5 years of experience in publishing, including acquisitions experience
