The Airport Operations Specialist ensures operational excellence throughout the Airport Badging business unit of Bush Intercontinental Airport by providing friendly customer service while conducting badging operations to include background checks, manage data in spreadsheets and carry out clerical duties, including answering phones and preparing documents. The purpose of the Security group at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), one of three airports that make up the Houston Airport System (HAS), is to use intelligence-led, risk-based operations to enhance airport security, reduce fear, and provide a safe environment to the traveling public. Airport Security staff-members ensure compliance with Federal regulations as well as HAS Operating Instructions. The Airport Operations Specialist provides guidance to team members and customers to help facilitate the badging process required for obtaining their security clearance. The Airport Operations Specialist will facilitate the formation of company profiles for access control and billing functions and are responsible for providing all required training associated with the IAH Airport Badging Office. <b><i>Candidates must be able to obtain all security required badge access including Custom Border Patrol access within 6 months from the hire date.&quot;</i></b></p><p><b><br>
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:</b></p><ul><li>Inspects airfields and airport terminal areas and the perimeter to ensure a safe and secure environment. WORKING CONDITIONS</b><br>
The position is routinely requires lifting of moderately heavy items, such as typewriters or records boxes (up to 40 pounds) and/or very long periods of walking and standing on rough surfaces on a routine basis. There are routine discomforts from exposure to moderate of heat, cold, moisture/wetness and unpleasant air conditions. The position may involve routine exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances such as cleaning solutions.    Operational Tasks: Execute assigned tasks related to voyage processing, ensuring timely completion; handling Outbound and Inbound calls, chats, and emails; and SmartSheet interactions to effectively align bookings with voyages.

   Irregular Operations: Act as contact agent for TA/Guests to coordinate irregular operations.
  </li>
  <li>
   Manifesting: Assist with basic manifesting functions as assigned by the Documents &amp; Manifests lead.
  </li>
  <li>
   Reservations Accounting: Assist with basic accounting functions as assigned by the Res Accounting lead. This will include contacting TA/Guests for open and past due balances.
  </li>
  <li>
   Guest Support: Assist with overflow service calls during peak times in the Call Center as required.
  </li>
  <li>
   Booking Processes: Coordinate all aspects of bookings, from creation to completion, ensuring accuracy and efficient operations to meet company KPIs.

   Team Leadership: Coach and mentor Ops team members to improve performance and assist with onboarding new Ops team members.

   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  </li>
  <li>
   Ability to work collaboratively across departments and adapt to changing priorities.

   Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  </li>

   Self-starter with excellent task management skills
  </li>
  <li>
   Intermediate proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, with the ability to teach their primary usage(s).
  </li>
  <li>
   Familiarity with or willingness to adopt AI-powered platforms (e.g., Copilot, automated workflows, data analysis tools) is a plus.
  </li>
  <li>
   Cruise or tour operations / reservations experience preferred.
  </li>
  <li>
   Preferred experience managing processes with timelines.
  </li>
  <li>
   Proficiency with Reservations and Operations systems (Seaware Core preferred)
  </li>
  <li>
   This position is expected to adjust work hours in cases of irregular operations, which likely will also require extended hours.
