Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Delivery Leadership
- Lead end-to-end engineering delivery across multiple strategic technology initiatives.
- Translate business and product requirements into clear technical delivery plans.
- Drive technical planning, estimation, prioritization, sprint execution, and release management.
- Monitor delivery progress, timelines, dependencies, and key milestones.
- Ensure successful delivery within agreed scope, quality, timeline, and budget.
2. Engineering & Architecture Governance
- Review solution architectures, technical designs, implementation approaches, and development plans.
- Ensure engineering solutions follow established architecture, security, quality, and development standards.
- Provide technical guidance and challenge design decisions where required.
- Promote scalable, maintainable, secure, and high-performing software solutions.
- Support architecture governance across ERP/GRP and enterprise technology environments.
3. External Team Management
- Manage and oversee external software development and technology delivery partners.
- Establish clear delivery expectations, milestones, KPIs, and quality standards.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to agreed technical and delivery commitments.
- Coordinate effectively between internal stakeholders and external engineering teams.
- Identify and address delivery or performance issues proactively.
4. Engineering Roadmap & SDLC
- Own and maintain the engineering delivery roadmap in alignment with product and business priorities.
- Ensure effective execution across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Establish appropriate delivery processes, governance, documentation, and reporting.
- Partner with PMO and relevant stakeholders to provide accurate delivery status and forecasts.
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and delivery practices.
5. Product & Business Alignment
- Collaborate closely with Product, Business, QA, Infrastructure, Operations, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure technical decisions support business objectives, product strategy, customer value, and commercial priorities.
- Contribute to technology and product roadmap discussions.
- Evaluate technical options based on business value, feasibility, scalability, and cost.
- Support the adoption of SaaS, cloud, and modern technology strategies where applicable.
6. Cloud & Technology Modernization
- Support and drive cloud modernization initiatives, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments.
- Promote modern engineering practices, cloud-native capabilities, automation, integration, and scalable architectures.
- Contribute to technology modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
- Ensure cloud solutions consider performance, security, availability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
7. Quality, Security & Operational Excellence
- Ensure engineering teams follow software development, testing, security, and quality best practices.
- Work closely with QA and Operations to ensure production readiness and release quality.
- Monitor technical and operational performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Promote effective documentation, knowledge management, and lessons learned.
- Ensure delivery processes support organizational quality and governance requirements.
8. Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Identify, assess, and manage technical and delivery risks.
- Maintain visibility of dependencies, constraints, issues, and mitigation plans.
- Support engineering governance, internal reviews, audits, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to quality frameworks and process maturity, including CMMI-related practices where applicable.
- Ensure appropriate technical documentation and governance controls are maintained.
9. Team Capability & Innovation
- Support the development and continuous improvement of engineering capabilities.
- Coach and guide technical teams and promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and quality.
- Contribute to recruitment, technical assessments, performance development, and capability building.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity through automation and emerging technologies.
- Support innovation initiatives, including the evaluation and adoption of AI/ML solutions based on business value, ROI, and prioritization frameworks such as ICE/RICE.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in software engineering, technical delivery, engineering management, or a related technology leadership role.
- Experience managing software development teams and/or external technology vendors.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience with technical planning, estimation, sprint execution, release management, and delivery governance.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration, application development, and enterprise technology environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud modernization initiatives is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of software quality, security, scalability, performance, and operational best practices.
- Strong stakeholder and communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business functions.
- Saudi nationality is required.
