1:30 PM-10:00 PM Mon-Fri with rotating weekends.</li><li>

Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Interprets, clarifies, and transcribes all medication orders accurately and timely.</li>
<li>Documents medication order clarifications.</li>
<li>Monitors medication orders and reviews patient profile to ensure appropriate drug selection and documents dosage recommendations.</li>
<li>Advises patients and care providers of potential drug interactions, possible side effects, storage information, and instructions on how to use medications.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of the Damien Pharmacy dispensing system.</li>
<li>Becomes familiar with how to utilize the Damien Cares EMR for obtaining patient information when necessary.</li>
<li>Work with other departments within Damien Cares/Damien Center to ensure patient&rsquo;s needs are met to provide access to care.</li>
<li>Oversee the daily activities of pharmacy technicians including verifying their order entries, filling and labeling of medications and any other duties related to completion of a patient&rsquo;s medication order.</li>
<li>Comply with state and federal drug laws regulated by the state Board of Pharmacy and the Drug Enforcement Administration by maintaining records for controlled substances and storage of controlled substances</li>
<li>Dispense controlled medications and maintain records as required by appropriate regulatory authorities.</li>
<li>Inventories, orders, and maintains supply of drugs and other pharmacy supply items.</li>
<li>Receives and stores incoming orders, verify quantities against invoices, and report any shortages.</li>
<li>Monitoring pharmacy inventory for outdated and damaged drugs and processing returns to approved vendor for credit when possible.</li>
<li>Transferring prescriptions to or from other pharmacy locations.</li>
<li>Trains and supervise pharmacy technicians as assigned.</li>
<li>Ability to operate point of sale system to accept payment from customers.</li>
<li>Knowledge of options for patient receipt of medication if unable to pick up at pharmacy.</li>
<li>Demonstrates working knowledge of pharmacy&rsquo;s policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Demonstrates working knowledge of 340B program and procedures of the program as it pertains to pharmacy operations.</li>
<li>Demonstrates ability to function as a team member in performance improvement review activities.</li>
<li>Demonstrates ability to set priorities, work independently and cooperatively with others internally and externally.</li>
<li>Maintains competencies and certifications necessary for administering injections.</li>
<li>Performs all other duties as assigned by PIC/pharmacy manager.</li>

Education and/or Experience:
<ul>
<li>BS Pharmacy Degree or a Doctor Pharmacy Degree required</li>
<li>May require additional certifications related to overall operations of Damien Pharmacy</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely</li>
<li>Good communication skills and a customer-first attitude</li>
<li>Ability to stand for long periods and lift less than or up to 30 lbs.</li>
</ul>
<ul><li>Work or lived experience may substitute for education requirements on a case-by-case basis.</li></ul>

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure.

What you'll be doing

Patient care. You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient stats before and after treatment, initiating treatment, monitoring patients during treatment, terminating treatment, and collecting patient blood samples per physician orders.

Technician Duties. You will ensure quality comes first by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, cleaning and disinfecting machines after treatment, and conducting machine safety checks and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.

Safety and Quality. You will use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment. Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations. You will participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
What we're looking for</h2>

<li>Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients in need</li>
<li>Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus</li>

<li>Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency, within 8 weeks of hire.
</li><li>Successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.</li>
<li>CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.</li>
<li>Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter.

<li>Must be comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.</li></ul>
