WBUR is launching a new video focus and we're looking for the leader who will define it. This isn't a role for someone looking to maintain a playbook &mdash; it's for a builder: someone who sees the full potential of video to deepen audience relationships, advance public media storytelling and create sustainable revenue for journalism that matters. 


As Director of Video, you will establish WBUR's Video Center of Excellence, set its editorial standards, train and guide staff and shape a multi-platform distribution strategy that extends our reach across YouTube, social channels, our owned platforms and beyond. You'll partner closely with editorial, product, revenue and marketing teams. 


The ideal candidate leads with editorial conviction, thinks strategically about audiences and revenue and is just as comfortable in a production workflow as they are in a senior leadership meeting. 


ROLE SUMMARY 


Reporting to the Chief Content Officer, the Director of Video leads WBUR's full video enterprise: strategy, production, team, distribution, analytics, revenue and operations. You will guide journalists and multimedia producers, run a broad range of editorial video work across the organization and serve as the primary champion for video as a cross-platform growth lever. You'll balance day-to-day editorial oversight with longer-horizon thinking about where video can take WBUR in the next three to five years. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 


Strategy &amp; Leadership (20%) 

<ul>
<li>Develop and execute a multi‑year video strategy aligned to the WBUR strategic pillars (editorial excellence, audience growth, deepening engagement, cross-platform strategies, innovation and sustainability).</li>
<li>Define the Video Center of Excellence&rsquo;s remit, governance, budget, success metrics and roadmap &ndash; including short‑term pilots (e.g., video experiments and flagship video podcasts) and a 12&ndash;24 month plan to scale successful pilots.</li>
<li>Partner with Editorial leaders and WBUR departments such as Product, Engineering, Business Partnerships, Membership and Marketing, to integrate video into major projects and campaigns; champion video as a cross‑platform lever for audience growth, membership conversion and sponsorship revenue.</li></ul> 


Editorial &amp; Production Oversight (20%)

<li>Uphold the highest journalistic standards across all video content &mdash; accuracy, fairness, accessibility and ethical integrity are non-negotiable.</li>

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:
The Senior Director oversees advancement of PSI&rsquo;s Housing Placement programs by ensuring guests are moved from the streets or shelter into alternative or permanent housing. This position is responsible for the operations, financial controls, and program evaluation of the PSI Housing Placement programs. The position requires significant visibility and positive, close collaboration between and among other agency departments and external collaborators. The position will have significant responsibility to collaborate, negotiate, and lead coordination of services of placement, housing search/unit acquisition and stabilization programs within PSI. With supervision responsibilities for several senior-level positions, the Senior Director must be available for emergency consultation as needed. The position will partner with embedded/integrated teams and peers to strategize, design and execute complex change management communication plans in support of its strategic goals.
Functions as a member of the senior program leadership team and participates in all management level meetings including program leadership, program working group, and all other working groups as assigned. Remains responsive and supportive across departments, co-leading projects as assigned. Develops implements and maintains, in person or by delegation, contract applications, renewals, and data collection. Ensures that all reporting to funding sources complies with all regulatory requirements. The Senior Director assists in setting policies, operating procedures and workflows in consultation with the Vice President of Housing Placement and Clinical Services.
The Senior Director is responsible for ensuring all housing placement services within the shelters are delivered in accordance with PSI&rsquo;s mission and values, maintaining an eye toward outcomes, overall quality, and funder satisfaction. The Senior Director also serves in an external capacity and is responsible for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with partners, collaborators and funders. They will also continuously assess changing contexts and environments and the implications to continue necessary relationships/partnerships for the good of PSI and the community.
The Senior Director maintains direct oversight of this department with four-six direct reports, works closely with the program team and external partners, and reports directly to the Vice President of Housing Placement and Clinical Services.

 Reporting to the Executive Editor, The World and Local Productions, the Show Editor/Producer has a leading dual role responsible for shaping The World&rsquo;s editorial output - the overall shape and sound of the show. Working in tandem with the Supervising Producer Editor, they alternate on a regular basis between show producing the broadcast and editing stories and copy, playing a key role on the daily production helping to conceive and shepherd the broadcast from editorial meeting to live on-air.
