The staff Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients and facilitating rehabilitation and independence. Develops and designs treatment plans for physically, mentally and/or emotionally disabled patients. Occupational Therapists enable, enhance and improve patients&rsquo; ability to gain independent, productive daily living and working environments. 
Responsibilities
1. Examines and assesses patients' physical, cognitive and learning abilities to determine realistic attainable rehabilitation goals and plan of care.

2. Treatment interventions are based on findings of the evaluation and the plan of care.

3. Selects educational, recreational and social activities that will help individuals learn work and life-management skills within limits of their cognitive and physical capabilities.

4. Reassesses patients' progress and prepares reports that details progress.

5. Documents therapy activities and maintains necessary records in patient files.

6. Provides training and education to caregivers in preparation of discharge.

7. Recommends changes in patients' work or living environments that is consistent with their needs and capabilities.

8. Provide documentation of medical necessity for approval of DME/adaptive equipment and ongoing treatment.

9. 1-2 continuing education courses per year

10. Performs other related duties. 
Qualifications<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s degree in Occupational Therapy
</li><li>Graduate of accredited Occupational Therapy Program</li>
<li>New York State Occupational Therapy License</li>
<li>National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred.</li>

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58661 - $91816 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. As a Remote Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will provide occupational therapy services to clients remotely. You will collaborate with licensed Occupational Therapists to assess and implement appropriate treatment plans, monitor progress, and provide guidance to clients through virtual platforms. Your primary goal will be to help clients achieve their occupational therapy objectives and improve their functional abilities in a remote setting.
