 In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Principal Investigators (PI) and working independently within the scientific framework of the PI's laboratory.

  Job Responsibilities

   Develops new ideas that promote current research. Exercises a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive scientific research programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance.

   May manage the operations of a lab for the Principal Investigator by supervising Post Docs and technicians. Oversees the maintenance and upkeep of all instruments and laboratory facilities.
  </li>
  <li>
   Ensures timely and accurate completion of research projects.
  </li>
  <li>
   May provide students with technical guidance and direction in the operation of various sample preparation techniques, extraction lines, and equipment as well as general laboratory practices and safety protocols.

   May seek grant funding from external sources in support of their independent research projects with consent of the PI and the Department Chair. May participate in writing grant proposals.
  </li>

   May be responsible research/lab quality control and compliance.

   May develop protocol for the collection and quality of research data.

   Develops research techniques and methodologies.

At CSB, we aim to help future and current business leaders embrace proactive and innovative mainstreaming of sustainability, resulting in competitive advantage and resiliency for their companies as well as a positive impact for society.</p><p>CSB's research is anchored in understanding the value drivers underlying sustainability practices across industries, and we have turned that lens to private equity. Extensive interviews and consulting with GPs and LPs have informed the creation of frameworks and tools that help investors and portfolio companies identify material sustainability-related risk and opportunities, and develop strategies to create new enterprise value.</p><p><b>Your Contribution to the NYU Stern CSB</b>: In joining the NYU Stern CSB team as a Senior Research Scientist, you will be working directly with the Founding and current Directors of CSB as well as other research colleagues at CSB to lead our research into sustainability-linked value creation in private markets.</p><p><b>Responsibilities</b>:</p><ul><li>With support from the Founding Director, lead engagement and outreach with GPs to help them implement the CSB GP value driver tool and ROSI in their portfolios</li><li>Working with the ROSI team, develop additional tools and insights to help GPs and their portfolio companies generate sustainability-linked value creation</li><li>Explore opportunities for CSB to develop sustainability-linked value creation tools and case studies for private credit</li><li>With support from the Founding Director, lead engagement and outreach with LPs to help them implement the CSB LP value creation tool</li><li>Collaborate with LP and GP partner groups, as well as other stakeholders (e.g. PEZMET, ILPA, CERES, ADL and UNPRI) to drive uptake of our research</li><li>Lead thought leadership initiatives, such as organizing the annual private equity forum, and write articles and reports to disseminate research</li></ul><p><b>Benefits of Working with CSB</b>: As an employee of New York University and the Stern CSB, you will enjoy a competitive salary and generous benefits package that includes health care coverage, and 403b retirement savings.
