Responsibilities:

Provide presentation formatting and design support for executive and organizational deliverables, ensuring materials are polished and brand-compliant.</li><li>

Events &amp; Meeting Support</b></div><ul><li>

Qualifications:

<div><div><p>The Communications Manager reports to Oceana&rsquo;s International Communications Director and supports Oceana&rsquo;s organizational public relations efforts with the goal of increasing brand awareness to drive media coverage, fundraising, and policy and corporate outcomes.
</p><p>The Communications Manager helps tell Oceana&rsquo;s global story to key audiences, including the media, funders, supporters, and decision-makers. The Communications Manager is responsible for rapidly researching, creating, and executing strategies that effectively position Oceana and its leaders as authorities in the ocean conservation and environmental spaces. This includes serving as the lead media contact for Oceana&rsquo;s corporate plastic campaigns targeting major polluters like Coca-Cola and Pepsi, in addition to securing coverage for Oceana&rsquo;s international brand, annual events, executive committee, board of directors, celebrity supporters, scientific reports, and other ocean topics. Drafts speeches, talking points, legislative oral and written testimony memos and other assets for executive director, Bar leadership, and volunteer leaders.</li><li>
Produces the Pro Bono Center annual report and the Pro Bono Initiative&rsquo;s annual survey and report.</li><li>
Manages outreach and review process for D.C. Bar Pro Bono Law Firm and Lawyer of the Year Awards.</li><li>
Staffs and assists with logistics for Board of Directors, Pro Bono Committee, and staff meetings. Staffs events including annual Presidents Reception, Pro Bono Partnership luncheons, pro bono training sessions, and external events.</li><li>
Serves as backup in responding to public inquiries about pro bono opportunities and resources.</li><li>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</b></div><br>
<div></div><ul><li>
Prior relevant communications and marketing management experience, including drafting engaging content to advance an organization&rsquo;s mission.</li><li>
Ability to conduct independent research and produce editorial and marketing content.</li><li>
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.</li><li>
Excellent proficiency in email marketing tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Campaign Monitor, or MailChimp.</li><li>
Proficiency with graphic and layout design tools such as Canva, Piktochart, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop. Excellent proficiency with social media such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X and with tools such as Sprout Social and Hootsuite.</li><li>
Proficiency with communications and marketing industry trends and marketing analytics.</li><li>
Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends for a variety of Pro Bono Center clinics and events.</li><li>
Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.</li><li>
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including grammar, editing, and proofreading skills.</li><li>
Must be detail oriented and deadline driven. Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must work well in a team environment and be able to interact, including in-person, with Bar members, volunteers, vendors, the public and Pro Bono Center and Bar employees.</li><li>

Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or other relevant fields.</li><li>
Experience in a nonprofit, human services, or legal work environment.</li><li>
Experience with nonprofit, human services, or legal communications and marketing.</li><li>
Experience providing client service, member service, or customer service.</li><li>
Experience with fundraising in a professional or volunteer capacity.</li><li>
Experience with video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere or iMovie and experience with video streaming tools like Wirecast.</li><li>
