Position Summary:

Metropolitan Commercial Bank (the &quot;Bank&quot;) is seeking an Applied AI Analyst to support the design, configuration, testing, and monitoring of applied AI, Generative AI, machine learning, and agentic workflow solutions in a highly regulated banking environment. Working under the guidance of AI Scientists and in partnership with engineering, risk, and business teams, this role focuses on internal human-in-the-loop use cases such as AI-assisted loan documentation generation, fraudulent transaction detection models, policy and knowledge copilots, workflow automation, and other productivity solutions. A meaningful portion of the role is dedicated to AI solution intake and delivery support&mdash; learning new business domains, engaging business owners, preparing required documentation, and supporting vendor and risk reviews, so that solutions can be built and deployed under strict control gates and documentation standards aligned to internal and external regulations. The role emphasizes strong documentation, human oversight, privacy-by-design, cybersecurity, and disciplined lifecycle controls aligned to internal and external regulations. Essential Functions &amp; Responsibilities

Applied AI solution development &amp; analysis:

<li>Support AI Scientists in building, configuring, and testing applied AI/GenAI solutions for high-value banking use cases such as credit memo generation, policy/regulatory summarization, knowledge assistants, and internal productivity copilots.</li>
<li>Develop and refine prompts, grounding instructions, structured outputs, evaluation datasets, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using embeddings, vector search, document chunking, and metadata-driven retrieval.</li>
<li>Prepare and transform structured and unstructured data; assist with API integrations, notebooks, and repeatable workflows that improve quality, traceability, and analyst productivity.</li>

Agentic workflow design &amp; orchestration:
<ul>
<li>Assist in designing and testing agentic workflows using approved enterprise platforms and frameworks, including multi-agent patterns, human-in-the-loop approvals, handoffs, and subagent / agents-as-tools designs.</li>
<li>Work with emerging interoperability patterns such as Model Context Protocol (MCP), tool / skill / plugin integration, and Agent-to-Agent (A2A) connectivity under supervision and within approved guardrails.</li>

Evaluation, testing, and monitoring:

<li>Create and execute test cases for accuracy, groundedness, hallucination, task completion, retrieval quality, bias/fairness, and basic adversarial or prompt-injection scenarios; escalate issues promptly.</li>
<li>Track KPIs/KRIs, output quality, drift indicators, and user feedback; maintain evidence needed for pilot reviews, production monitoring, and periodic reassessment.</li>

AI governance, intake documentation, and cybersecurity/privacy controls:

<li>Support AI use-case intake and governance processes by preparing required documentation (e.g., AI intake forms, model/system inventories, change-control artifacts, and audit-ready evidence packs) aligned to MCB's Trustworthy &amp; Responsible AI Principles and internal approval processes.</li>
<li>Learn domain and process context for new use cases by speaking with business owners and control partners; translate requirements into clear problem statements, data needs, user journeys, control gates, and documentation required to comply with internal and external regulations.</li>
<li>Support third-party / AI vendor due diligence by collecting and organizing evidence, reviewing vendor documentation, and helping risk-tier AI vendors and solutions in partnership with Third-Party Risk and Cyber/IT; act as an AI subject matter expert in providing an understanding of AI-specific risks.</li>
<li>Apply privacy-by-design, data minimization, access-control, and secure prompt/data handling practices; follow approved tooling and build standards.</li>

Cross-functional partnership and continuous learning:

<li>Communicate findings, limitations, and recommendations clearly to AI Scientists, managers, control partners (Model Risk, Compliance/Legal, Cyber/IT, Data Privacy), and business stakeholders; incorporate feedback quickly and accurately.</li>

About the Role
The AI Enablement Business Analyst, Sr. sits within the Global Business Operations (GBO) AI Enablement Team and serves as the critical bridge between business units and the Technology Operations team. The Applied AI Solutions Architecture team is seeking a hands-on, customer-obsessed Solutions Architect to accelerate customer adoption of Amazon Connect's AI capabilities. Applied AI Solutions is part of the AWS Specialist &amp; Partner (ASP) org, which works backwards from our customer&rsquo;s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. A critical dimension of this role is Customer Data Readiness &mdash; assessing, preparing, and structuring customer data assets so that AI agents can reliably access, retrieve, and act on the right information. You will help customers evaluate their data landscape, identify gaps, establish data pipelines, and ensure their knowledge bases, CRMs, and backend systems are AI-ready before agents go live. You will work at the intersection of contact center operations and applied AI, helping customers move from proof-of-concept to pre-production for their Amazon Connect deployments. We stay closely connected to our customers and bring valuable data and insights to our product teams, strengthening the product roadmap. Our team is at its best when a customer is thinking big and needs specialized experience to innovate for their business. 
 
Key job responsibilities 
<ul><li>Customer Engagement: Lead technical discovery sessions with customer teams to understand business requirements, existing contact center architecture, and AI readiness. Translate findings into actionable implementation plans.
</li><li>Customer Data Readiness: Conduct data readiness assessments to evaluate the quality, accessibility, structure, and governance of customer data assets (CRMs, knowledge bases, ticketing systems, order management, etc.). Identify data gaps, recommend remediation strategies, and help customers build the data foundation required for effective AI agent tool use and RAG-powered responses.
</li><li>Agentic AI Implementation: Design and configure agentic AI solutions within Amazon Connect, including AI agent creation, AI prompt engineering, model selection, guardrail configuration, and tool/action integration.
</li><li>A2A (Agent-to-Agent) Integration: Architect Agent-to-Agent communication patterns that allow Amazon Connect AI agents to collaborate with specialized agents across the enterprise (e.g., billing agents, order management agents, IT support agents), enabling multi-agent workflows that span organizational boundaries.
</li><li>Integration Development: Build serverless integrations using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, and scripting (Python, Node.js) to connect Amazon Connect AI agents with customer data systems (CRMs, ERPs, databases, knowledge bases).
</li><li>Cloud Data Access: Architect secure access patterns to cloud-based data systems to power AI agent tool use and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
</li><li>Agentic IDE Proficiency: Leverage agentic development environments such as Kiro (and similar AI-assisted IDEs) to accelerate development workflows, including spec-driven development, agent hooks, MCP server configuration, and AI-assisted code generation.
</li><li>Pre-Production Validation: Guide customers through testing, evaluation, and validation of AI agent performance against defined success criteria before production deployment.
</li><li>Field Enablement: Share learnings, delivering technical deep-dives, and mentoring other SAs on agentic AI implementation patterns.

</li><li>Configuring MCP servers to expose customer APIs, databases, and tools in a standardized format for agent consumption
</li><li>Designing A2A workflows where Amazon Connect agents hand off to or collaborate with specialized agents across the customer's enterprise

</li><li>Running evaluation frameworks to measure AI agent accuracy, latency, and customer satisfaction

The Applied AI Solutions Architecture team is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). We are the technical bridge between Amazon Connect customers and the service teams building the next generation of AI-powered contact center capabilities. Our team operates at the forefront of agentic AI adoption, helping customers become production-ready with Amazon Connect's Unlimited AI features.
