Job Description</b><p><br>
NBC 5 Chicago is looking for a Sports Anchor/Reporter to be responsible for gathering information on many current sports events, games and personalities and preparing the information for live on-air broadcast presentation. Responsibilities include providing anchored sports segment(s) for newscasts. Will function in Sports Anchor and Reporter roles, both for on-air and on Station's web site, or another digital platform as assigned. Will work within a strong team environment.</p><b><br>
Qualifications</b><br>
<ul><li>
Minimum of 4 years television news anchor/reporter experience covering Sports.</li><li>
BA or BS in Journalism, Communications or related field.</li><li>
This is an AFTRA-union represented position. If not now a member, membership will be required upon hire.</li></ul><p>
Desired Qualifications:</p><ul><li>
Very knowledgeable of all Chicago sports teams and personnel</li><li>
Must be able to work varied work schedules during the week and work weekends when needed.</li><li>
Must have strong speech skills to communicate and present effectively on-air during live broadcasts, during breaking news situations and able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, individually as well as with co-anchors.</li><li>
Must have excellent interviewing skills.</li><li>
Must be able to handle working under the pressure of intense deadlines on a regular basis.</li><li>
Must have excellent computer skills and ability to work with a variety of computer applications.</li></ul><p>
