Position Summary:
PAL is seeking an IT Support Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of computer systems, hardware, and IT infrastructure. He or she will be responsible for on-site support across all PAL&rsquo;s NYC 17 locations for networked PCs, laptops, VOIP phones, PAL issues mobile phones, printers, PAL&rsquo;s Microsoft Active Directory domain and hosted in Azure and locally and troubleshooting various network devices including switches and routers. Additionally, PAL relies heavily on the Office 365 Suite online tools, to support both on-site and hybrid work for all staff. The IT support Engineer will work closely with the Operations team, PAL&rsquo;s IT Business Partner providing enterprise managing IT services.
The IT Support Technician will report to the Director of Operations and work collaboratively with other Operations and IT staff.
What you&rsquo;ll do:
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
<ul><li>Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, peripherals, operating systems issues.
</li><li>Support new desktop, laptop and mobile phone user setup and mobile device management solution, including orienting staff on new equipment.
</li><li>Serve as one of the primary contact to support internal company, end users, and IT operations
</li><li>Update PAL&rsquo;s IT Ticketing system to ensure that all tickets are resolved and documented appropriately
</li><li>Provide on-site critical support at PAL locations to troubleshoot, resolve, and accurately documents various technical problems and resolutions (i.e. software, hardware and company specific applications)
</li></ul>IT Administration and Maintenance:
<ul><li>Responsible for hardware and software inventory management and administration
</li><li>Administration of Microsoft Exchange 365 and Active Directory
</li><li>Assist with IT projects including new IT system implementations and upgrades

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology and the Desktop Support Manager, the Technical Support Specialist will provide high-quality end-user support for the various constituents at the School of Visual Arts (SVA). User groups include Administrative and Academic Staff, Students, and Faculty. End-user devices include desktop computers, laptops, printers, and mobile phones. Users are located in 12 buildings on the Manhattan campus and at home.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Responsible for quality end-user support and proactive maintenance of administrative desktop hardware, software, and peripherals &ndash; this includes assets owned and managed by the college.</li><li>
Responsible for the updating and maintenance of the administrative desktop asset database, including data entry, tracking warranty and service contracts, and the registration of all hardware and software purchases.</li><li>
Assist with setting up, configuring, and deploying desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other IT equipment.</li><li>
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, system backups, and antivirus management.</li><li>
Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate complex issues and follow up on resolution.</li><li>
Work with third-party vendor support groups as needed to resolve technical problems.</li><li>
Works with Active Directory and other service delivery systems.</li><li>
Document support activities, solutions, and procedures for future reference.

Collaboration is the key to success. For SVA IT, key collaborative operations groups include Audio Visual Services, Facilities (Physical Plant), Security Services (Campus Safety), and Resource Management (Office Services).</li><li>
Students, Staff, and Faculty in a Higher Education environment are not on a fixed 9 am-5 pm schedule, waiting for support like a typical office. The technician should be comfortable following up with end users to agree on a mutually convenient time to troubleshoot the issue.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Overview: The Desktop Technician plays a key role in supporting and maintaining MCU&rsquo;s end-user technology environment.
