About the Team

The Education team is based in New York and operates at the intersection of product, DevRel, and Marketing. The team creates tutorials, documentation, and learning resources that help developers integrate Viam into their workflows. What You&rsquo;ll Own

<li>End-to-end production for Viam&rsquo;s educational and marketing video content; from pre-production planning through final delivery, including tutorials, product demos, webinars, and event coverage.</li>
<li>Bring editorial judgment to every brief: shaping story structure, refining hooks, and making packaging decisions (titles, thumbnails, chapter breaks) that strengthen audience engagement and channel identity.</li>
<li>Camera operation and lighting setup for both studio and on-location shoots, capturing clean, professional footage across a range of formats.</li>
<li>Audio capture and post-production; recording setups and mixing that hold up whether you&rsquo;re in a controlled studio or on a conference floor.</li>
<li>Still photography for web, media, and corporate use; headshots, office life, product photography, and event coverage.</li>
<li>Long-form post-production editing in Final Cut Pro or equivalent, with an eye for pacing and clarity that serves a technical audience.</li>

What You Bring
<ul>
<li>A storyteller's instinct alongside your production skills; you think about why a viewer keeps watching, not just whether the footage is clean.</li>
Demonstrated experience producing and editing long-form technical or educational video content <li>- courses, tutorials, product demos, or webinars. A strong portfolio is required.</li>
<li>Professional camera operation skills, comfortable with a range of camera systems and lighting setups in both studio and field conditions.</li>
<li>Professional still photography capabilities, including corporate headshots, event coverage, and web-ready imagery.</li>

How We Work

Viam is a hybrid team based in New York, and this role will be in-office at least 3 days/week. This role will collaborate closely with our VP of Education and a set of highly experienced content producers across Education, DevRel, Marketing, and Engineering. Compensation

The salary for this role is between $110K - 150K/year. Your exact offer will vary based on factors including experience level, skillset, market location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. <ul><li>Apply advanced post-production techniques including color correction, audio</li></ul>
mixing, multi-cam editing, and vertical video formatting using Adobe Creative 
Suite tools such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.</div> 
The ideal candidate will have:<ul><li>5-10 years experience editing celebrity videos for digital outlets</li><li>Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere</li><li>Knowledge of studio and control room operations</li><li>Ability to color correct and mix audio.</li><li>Ability to create vertical videos for various social platforms</li><li>Be able to work very quickly under pressure</li><li>Pitch video ideas daily and contribute to team brainstorming.</li><li>Experience with multicam editing</li><li>Motion graphics experience a plus as is simple animation, but not necessary</li><li>Ability to select and use music to match the tone and style of the story</li><li>Must be organized, work well in a fast-paced environment and be a team-player.</li><li>Can-do attitude is key: someone who believes news doesn&rsquo;t have to be boring</li></ul>
