As our Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting and overseeing all core accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency across the organization. You will manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, month-end and year-end close processes, and financial reporting.

In this role, you will partner cross-functionally with teams such as Finance, People Operations, and Leadership to provide insights that inform strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies, and supporting audits and tax filings as needed.

You will report directly to the Director of Finance.

To be successful in this role:

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need to be open to learning, experimenting, and evolving. Comfort with emerging technology and curiosity around how tools like AI can support your workflow or help families more effectively is a plus.

<li>BA/BS degree in accounting or related field (experience may be considered in lieu of degree).</li>
<li>Experience/knowledge of accounting within the Professional Services industry is preferred.</li>
<li>5+ years of experience as a staff accountant in a public accounting or professional services environment desired.</li>

About the Role

Galileo's finance team keeps a fast-moving healthcare company financially healthy &mdash; and this role is at the center of that work. As Staff Accountant, you'll own the full AP cycle, contribute to month-end close, and manage compliance processes that keep us audit-ready and operationally sound.

Here's what you'll do:

In this role you will get to:</h2><ul><li>
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting continuous learning and development within the accounts payable team</li><li>
Oversee and manage the vendor onboarding process, ensuring accurate setup and compliance.</li><li>
Daily review of payments for accuracy and running pay cycles across various currencies and payment methods to assist with payment processing.</li><li>
Collaborate with other departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure proper expense allocation.</li><li>
Manage vendor and internal relationships, addressing inquiries and resolving payment issues in a timely manner.</li><li>
Collaborate with the broader finance team to facilitate a smooth month-end close process, reconciling accounts and addressing any discrepancies</li><li>
Develop and implement process improvements to streamline accounts payable processes and enhance efficiency.</li><li>
Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and changes in accounting regulations related to accounts payable</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Who you are:</h2><ul><li>
8+ years of experience in Accounts Payable</li><li>
4 years of leadership or managerial experience</li><li>
Detail oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment</li><li>
Organized and able to multitask, responsible for handling coordinators</li><li>
Proficient Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheet skills</li><li>
Working experience and technical knowledge of various Oracle and/or Accounts Payable related systems and required interfaces.</li><li>
Strong work ethic and interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally</li><li>
Strong planning and organizational skills required to handle a sophisticated process involving multiple internal and external customers</li><li>
Strong analytical ability requiring a high degree of attention to detail</li></ul>
There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
The salary range for this position is $90,000-$115,000.</h2>
